Transaction: Lions Sign 3rd Rounder Julian Okwara

Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Lions were able to get another draft pick under contract earlier today. Third round selection, DE Julian Okwara of Notre Dame, was signed to a 4 -year, $4,926,810 year deal with a signing bonus of $1,143,136 per Spotrac.

Okwara is being counting on to add some teeth to the Lions pass rush, which struggled last year to generate pressure, let alone sacks and disruptive plays.

Okwara follows DT John Penisini and Logan Stenberg who signed back in May.
