Welcome to The Grey Manes Monday Morning Rundown, a collection of news and notes form the prior week that impact the Lions, the NFL or whatever else catches my eye.
Lions Players, Coaches and Team
Amon-Ra St Brown is now engaged to his fiancé Brooklyn Adams
The Lions have released additional "Get to Know" Pick posts including Jimmy Rolder and Keith Abney II
The Lions Jahmyr Gibbs was rated #2 RB in the league for an ESPN survey conducted with Executives, Scouts and Coaches, although someone had him as low as 8th
Lions Aiden Hutchinson was rated #5 overall Pass Rusher for an ESPN survey conducted with Executives, Scouts and Coaches.
TE Sam LaPorta came it at #4 on the ESPN Survey of the top TEs conducted with Executives, Scouts and Coaches.
For the ESPN Survey, as expected Penei Sewell picked up the #1 overall ranking, unlike the trash rankings ESPN's Mike Clay put out showing him as OT #10 and OL #17. Sewell also ranked as the #1 overall OL and OT in Madden Rankings. ESPN now has had three personalities (Clay, Jeremy Fowler and Raanan) put out negative posts about Sewell trying to tear him down using their proprietary (Nonofficial NFL Stat) of Pass Block Win rate.
A leaked Madden 27 Top 100 rated players list has Six Lions listed at 91 or above
ESPN has the Lions roster ranked 6th overall, well ahead of the other NFC North teams
The Lions unexpectantly picked up a nationally televised Preseason game against the Colts in Indy on 8/29 at 1pm on NFL Network.
Tate Ratledge is literally playing with sharks, and Coach Skip and his family are also enjoying the vacation time to get in a bit of fishing
There is a beef between Lions WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown (In-N-Out) and Isaac TeSlaa (Culver's) over the better burger place, and both TeSlaa and I are on team Culver's (although I do like In-N-Out).
Rumors, Nuggets and Speculation
Former Lions CB Terrion Arnold unsurprisingly was not claimed on waivers despite his lawyers stating that three teams are interested in signing him, which we have now learned are the Jets, Texans, Colts and Seahawks.
Dates from the NFL's 2027 calender are starting to trickle out including a super quick turnaround from the end of the scouting combine on 3/8/29 and the start of the legal tampering period on 3/9/27.
The Seattle Seahawks are being purchased for a massive $9.6B dollars
Former Lions RB David Montgomery debuts on the NFLs Top 100 runs list at #49
Things I think are Noteworthy
When Super Troopers 3 hits theaters in August you can get a Mustachioed Popcorn bucket and a frickin Liter of cola!
