Texas Tech DT Skyler-Gill Howard

The Detroit FINALLY got their DT that everyone has been clamoring for in Round 6 with the selection undersized DT Skyler Gill-Howard of Texas tech. The kid has some definite athletic shortcomings, but his motor is one of the best at the position and looks to be a complete Dan Campbell and Detroit Lions type of player.

Gill-Howard spent two years in the MAC with Northern Illinois before finishing his career at Texas Tech.

Law Key Career Stats

  • 31 career games

  • 88 Total Tackles, 51 solo and 37 assists.

  • 14.5 TFLs

  • 6 Sacks

  • 1 INT, I TD, 2 PD and 1 FR

The Grey Manes were happy to get some depth at the position and not overly worried about the size and athleticism issues this late in the draft.

His college Jersey number of 0 is currently worn by Jamyr Gibbs, so Gill-Howard will need to pick a new one.
