Detroit Lions Announce Practice Squad

After making the necessary roster moves, waivers and releases yesterday to get down to the initial 53-man roster, the Detroit Lions announced today the initial members of their 2026 practice squad with the roster type added. Of note, the Lions did not claim anyone nor were they awarded anyone they may have claimed.

With the 14 players signe below, the Lions can add any type of PS player they need with the last two

Practice Squad Roster Type

• Rookie - Rookies, or players who have not accrued one season of NFL experience

• Rookie or <=2 - A maximum of four players who earned no more than two accrued NFL seasons

• Veteran <=9 Gms - Any player who was not active for nine regular-season games or more during their accrued seasons

• Veteran 2+ - Six players who've earned more than two accrued NFL seasons.

• IPP - NFL International Pathway Player which is one foreign born player can be the 17th Practice Squad member.
