Dr. Brent Crider (DBC) is a seasoned media professional and co-founder of The Grey Manes, bringing decades of experience in broadcasting, storytelling, and strategic communications to the platform. Since 2025, he has served as Co-Host of the Detroit Lions Grey Manes Podcast, helping shape the show’s growing presence in sports media through insightful commentary, engaging discussion, and a passion for the Lions community.
Brent’s broadcasting career includes serving as an anchor for the Defense Intelligence Network (DIN), where he delivered classified breaking news and topical broadcasts to global audiences in support of United States Strategic Command. His work required precision, clarity, and professionalism under high-stakes conditions—skills that continue to define his media presence today.
Formally trained in broadcasting and media relations at the United States Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, DBC’s passion for sports media began early as the sports editor of his high school newspaper. His career spans both private and public sector media roles, with extensive experience in print, behind the microphone and in front of the camera.
Originally from Riverview, Michigan, Brent holds advanced degrees in Management and Economics from the University of Oklahoma, National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College, Organizational Leadership from Argosy University, and a Doctorate in Executive Leadership from the University of Charleston (West Virginia).
As a co-founder of The Grey Manes since its creation in 2020, DBC continues to blend professional broadcasting expertise with authentic sports passion, helping deliver dynamic and entertaining content for football fans everywhere. (edited)
